Talk: The Challenges of Artists’ Film Production and Distribution

We invite you to join artists’ Anouk De Clercq and Rebecca Jane Arthur talk dedicated to questions related to the artsts’ audiovisual productions.

This talk is committed to addressing the specific conditions, requirements and discourse surrounding the production of artists’ film in both practical and conceptual terms. This talk will address the questions related to particular challenges that affect the funding, production and distribution of artists’ film, an increasingly fertile field of cultural production that occupies a unique position at the intersection of the film industry and the contemporary art world. Unlike the film industry, there are no prescribed models or procedures for producing artists’ film and, as a consequence, the structures and strategies that are put into place must constantly be redefined according to the specific context of each project. The speakers aim to identify and share ideas about the problematics surrounding artists’ film production and distribution.

The talk will take place on the 5th of December, 5.30 pm at Kaunas Artists’ House (V. Putvinskio g. 56).

This event is free for those who have registered, but due to the capacity of the venue, we have limited availability. We therefore urge you to register here until the 2nd of December: http://bit.ly/2A7TDVu

The event is organized by VšĮ “Visos mūzos” and Creative Europe Desk Lithuania MEDIA office. The Project is supported by Flanders State of the Art and Kaunas Artists' House.
